Senior Marketing Manager DACH region (f/m/d)

We are hiring a regional Senior Marketing Manager (DACH) for a full-time employment, working in our Berlin office or from home.

Does the prospect of leading marketing activity in Germany, the DACH region and Europe, with a globally renowned, award winning digital company excite you? Our aim as a group is to lead the pack in learning and development and we need an experienced, ROI-focused Head of Marketing to lead our marketing in our key European territories with a focus  on Germany and the DACH region, to ensure we continue to raise brand awareness through effective creative campaigns, events, and digital content like no other.

The role. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer in the UK, you’ll take responsibility for the implementation of marketing strategies for Europe, primarily targeting Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, with a focus on a variety of commercial sectors. You will have a core skill set in marketing communications in German, and senior level experience in a B2B marketing capacity with a medium sized company is essential. 

Along with driving quality communications and content in these regions, you’ll lead our marketing planning and the implementation of all activity in these areas, using your skills in market research and intelligence to identify new opportunities and build a marketing function from the ground up. To do this, you’ll have the support of our central, UK-based team of marketing professionals who lead on exceptional digital marketing, PR, brand, and general marketing. You will combine our team’s specialised skills in digital marketing with your skills in adapting messaging for your target territories to deliver growth through a range of B2B marketing channels.

We’re focused on leading the pack in Learning and Development and whilst we already have a great reputation globally, it’s important for us to have a constantly growing presence and a proactive approach to identifying new opportunities – we need to help our future clients to find our brand before they even know we exist – your energy for seeking out new market opportunities and delivering campaigns to maximise our ROI against them will play a big role in our overall growth strategy.

Another part of the role will be around events as we show case our offering throughout the year at some of the biggest in our industry - we will need your experience here to identify the most valuable opportunities in your territories, and to ensure Sponge is seen and remembered by the right people.

And whilst this is a senior role, you’ll be very much hands on in the day to day running of all things marketing at Sponge so it’s essential you relish the opportunity to deliver marketing activity as well as plan it.

Candidates must:

  • provide exceptional German and very good English language skills
  • have 5 years+ experience of B2B marketing in the DACH (Germany/Austria/Switzerland) region
  • be able to contribute to and implement highly effective marketing plans with a focus on compliance and ethics training sectors in the DACH region
  • have a core skill set in writing content in German
  • have a track record of planning and executing digital marketing/campaigns and social media
  • have a track record of organising successful marketing events (digital/live)
  • be able to leverage market intelligence to identify new marketing opportunities
  • remain highly focused on ROI working closely with our commercial/sales function

Desired skills, attributes, and experience:

  • broad, content marketing experience in a growing, fast paced organisation
  • deep understanding of digital content channels – social, content, video, email, search, and web
  • exceptional content planning skills
  • experience in the compliance space and/or in Learning & Development
  • strong commercial understanding - sector focused expertise with blue-chip clients
  • open, engaging, and inclusive communicator and collaborator across all levels
  • the ability to think strategically and act tactically
  • an eye for detail
  • an ability to remain calm and deliver consistently under pressure
  • strong French language writing skills
